What is Gin – a distillate and its botanicals
The gin is a distillate of cereals, which is obtained from the maceration of herbs and flavoring spices, called botanicals (in Italian simply Botaniche).
It is precisely the botanicals, the main ingredient that gives this distillate its uniqueness of fragrances and flavors at the moment of tasting.
The name Gin derives from the fact that among the botanicals used there are juniper berries ; it is precisely these that give the name to the distillate.
